New prize for 2017
New for this year is an $11,000 in-kind International Scale-up Prize. This exciting new prize offers an all expense-paid business development trip to China.
The winner will also receive accelerator services from I-INC accelerator, VentureLabs and The China Canada Commercialization & Acceleration Network.
Past winners making their mark
Many top placing companies earn valuable recognition and have gone on to raise capital, expand their teams, and scale their businesses. Like Edvisor, Awesense, Vonigo, and LightIntegra, just to name a few.
Most recently, 3rd place winner Appbridge was acquired by Google. And 3rd prize winner Minesense has closed over $19,000,000 in financing.
Not sure if you qualify?
The competition is open to early-stage tech companies: you can have a startup or just be in the idea stage. By early stage, we mean that your business cannot have raised over $1,000,000. Your company must be BC-based and less than five years old. Read our FAQ.
What types of tech?
We apply a broad definition of technology—past entrants have reimagined lighting systems, created an app for carpooling and designed new, painless ways to administer vaccinations. There’s room for all types of innovative technologies. See last year’s top 10.
