Past BCIC-New Ventures competitor, Alinker, is challenging assumptions about people with disabilities. Their revolutionary R-volution walking bike is now headed to market, with support from an Indiegogo campaign that exceeded targets in just its first day.
The Alinker R-volution walking bike not only promotes a shift in mindset in how people think about their own health, it supports a more inclusive environment for people with disabilities.
The R-volution is a non-motorized personal mobility vehicle that enables people to walk on wheels. It helps customers to do more, stay independent, and move free of the stigma attached to traditional mobility devices.
Indiegogo campaign bringing Alinker to market
The Alinker Indiegogo campaign reached 100% on its first day. Proceeds from the campaign will help bring the Alinker to market.
The campaign has caught the eye of Gizmag, Gadgetify, Georgia Straight, CBC TV and the Vancouver Sun. The team also expects to pitch for CBC’s Dragon’s Den.
Barbara Alink, inventor and CEO of the Alinker, also did a TEDx talk last week. It will be published on May 25 by TEDxEastVan.
